NEURAL CONTROL AND COORDINATION

NEURAL CONTROL AND COORDINATION

NEUROLOGY- study of nervous system

Nervous system is derived from ECTODERM

Central nervous system

GRAY MATTER- formed of unmyelinated cell bodies and dendrite .
WHITE MATTER- formed of myelinated axons.

BRAIN-  OUTSIDE - gray matter
                INSIDE- white matter

SPINAL MATTER - OUTSIDE- white matter
                                  INSIDE- gray matter

MENINGES- Both brain and spinal cord are covered by three connective tissue membranes called meninges.
Outermost - Durameter
Middle- Aracnoid matter
Inner Piameter

MENINGITIS-

Inflammation of meninges , this occur due to infection of bacteria (Nesseria meningitidis and sterptococcus pneumonia)

CEREBROSPINAL FLUID-

Main function of CSF is to act as a cushion and shock absorber to brain and spinal cord .It also help to maintain a uniform apressure nutrients and excreation of nerurons in CNS.

HYDROCEPHALUS-

Enlargement of head characterisedby an abnormal accumulation of CSF
